Immunoallergology

Immunoallergology is the medical specialty dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of allergic diseases.
In children, the allergic or atopic march begins with atopic dermatitis/eczema, sometimes progressing to food allergy and often to upper respiratory manifestations (allergic rhinitis and/or conjunctivitis) or lower respiratory manifestations (recurrent wheezing and asthma).
Allergic manifestations in children are increasingly common, with a prevalence of around 22% in Europe.

Immunoallergology therefore studies and treats pathologies related to:

  • Atopic dermatitis/eczema
  • Urticaria
  • Food allergy
  • Drug allergies
  • Allergies to insect bites/other things
  • Allergic rhinitis
  • Allergic conjunctivitis
  • Recurrent wheezing (repeated bronchiolitis)
  • Asthma
  • Immunodeficiency

Contact or prick skin tests may be indicated at the time of consultation.
